The Event Specification
The occasion was a 30th birthday party and my client was an events manager from a prestigious hotel chain. She she knew exactly what she wanted and how to achieve the look and the feel of the marquee. We began with a site visit after initial enquiry at the back garden of her parents home. The guest list consisted of 40 close friends and family. She wanted a party mood throughout the marquee with seating for all her guests. We measured up the garden and sent her a written quotation with additional events hire she may require.
The Challenge
The garden was at the back of her parents home and the access was through a narrow path from the side of the house. We carried parts of the marquee individually through the narrow access to carry out the install in a nice but slightly sloped garden.
The Solution
We supplied a small garden party marquee of 6 meters x 6 meters which covered as much of the garden as we could and began the instillation the day before the event with Chiavari chair hire and round tables to seat 10 per table. The tables were covered with white table cloths to finish things off nicely. She was able to fold the tables to create space for dancing after a meal. The client also hired up lighters from our marquee lighting hire range to create the party atmosphere and the lighting made all the difference as she knew from her experience working in the events industry and finally the marquee floor was covered in dark grey carpet to complete the install. The result was outstanding and goes to show how important lighting is to create the correct atmosphere in the marquee.
